Issue: Device is fully operational but the screen is very dim and you are able to change brightness setting but nothing changes.
Cause: Look to the right of the wifi chip. There is a circle on the logic board, from where the backplate support pin has scraped away the solder resist. See link below for a picture of the damage to the c720 motherboard.
Resolution: You will have to replace the logic board.
